Everyone appreciates a clean gym, right? Each year we close the gym for a few days so we can do a deep clean - steaming the carpets, cleaning the floors, taking care of any maintenance in the locker room. We picked the 4th of July weekend because it’s one of the busiest travel weekends and we really try not to inconvenience our members. Artemis will be closed: June 30-July 4th for our Annual Gym cleaning and 4th of July Holiday.

Restorative Yoga Workshop

Heidi is back with a special workshop on Sunday, 2/5 from 3-4pm, $10

"Tension is who you think you should be,
relaxation is who you are." ~ Chinese Proverb

When our minds and bodies are tense, it is difficult to think clearly and move freely. Restorative yoga helps us release tension from our body and mind, so that we can move toward stillness and spaciousness, and the felt sense of who we really are.

In this 1 hour class you will practice slow flowing yoga postures to warm up your body followed by longer held restorative poses using props, to create a sense of safety and support.

What to bring: Yoga mat, 2 bed pillows, 2 blankets.

Sawdog Coffee Roasters Samples

We are excited to announce that we have partnered with Sawdog Coffee Roasters. They are a small roastery in South Burlington that is committed to empowering women by exclusively roasting Café Femenino certified coffee, which ensures equal access to land ownership and profits, thus decreasing the likelihood of domestic violence and food scarcity. They also have a unique roasting method that produces smooth coffee no matter how dark. There's more! They're 1% For the Planet members, are certified organic and Fair Trade, use compostable bags, and run their roasters on solar panels.

You can’t find them in stores. Their hope is to genuinely connect people to the reasons why they roast, and retail isn’t always the best option to do that. Instead, they operate a subscription service. They will be delivering your order to Artemis on the Monday following the fourth Sunday every month. To get your subscription started this month be sure to order by September 23rd. They will be offering free coffee samples in the gym on Sept. 21st and 25th from 9-11. Sip and Stretch with Citizen Cider

We love to get together! Join us for a cider sampling from our friends at Citizen Cider and a special foam rolling workshop by Andrea Trombley, PT, DPT.

Foam Rolling Workshop:

No matter what your exercise of choice is, we all over use some muscle groups, and under use others. This creates muscular imbalances, which can set you up for injury. A short foam roller routine can help balance out these asymmetries and get you feeling better, faster, post-exercise. Or, foam rolling can be used before exercise to increase blood flow and get your body ready for movement and stretching.

It doesn't matter if you call it self-massage or myofascial release - all that matters is that releasing built-up muscle tension helps you feel better. It is a form of self-care that you can do at home, anytime, and feel less stiff, less sore, and more healthy.

  • Promote a healthy body image

Free Week!

For one week only, all of our group fitness classes will be FREE! Come to as many as you'd like, all week long! It's an excellent way to see if Artemis is the right fit for you. If you're new to exercise or haven't been to a class at Artemis, we recommend starting with a FUNdamentals class. It's a total body workout appropriate for all levels, from beginner to expert.

View the schedule, invite a friend, and please stop in. You do not need to sign up in advance, but if you’re new please come a few minutes before class to fill out a waiver.
