Megan's Success Story

I didn't think I needed personal training. I attend group classes regularly, the workout pushes me, and it's a real challenge to fit anything else into my schedule.  But I had heard other women talking about it and decided to try it for a month. That was a year ago and now I'm hooked!

Personal training is everything I love about Artemis, MAGNIFIED! The things I've learned in PT have helped me see improvement in the group classes: I can do more pushups, I can lift heavier weights, I'm not as tired all the time. It's shaping me into a better athlete. 

But the thing I love the most is the encouragement and camaraderie. I love how Kendra, Rachel, Maggie, Buffy and Kathryn always encourage me to hang on, do one more pushup, go a little faster.  I'm grateful I can come to this place exactly as I am.... and leave better. How many people can say that about their GYM? Thank you ladies for what you bring to this place, it is truly unrivaled and very dear to me.

I joined Artemis in 2012 because my nutritionist and doctor insisted that I needed to get on an exercise regiment. The idea, my nutritionist advised, was to balance a change in eating habits with exercise. My incentive to make the necessary dietary change and to improve my physical health was simple vanity. I would be turning 60 and I had to start feeling better. The effort has required me to be more selfish and disciplined about time for me, but it is paying off. In two years, I have dropped 30 pounds and am close to working out 3 times a week at Artemis.

Karen's Success Story

A devastating back injury literally changed my life overnight. Despite surgery, I had constant lower back and sciatic pain. For three years, I engaged in numerous therapies which offered minimal or temporary relief. I gained weight and lost muscle. I gave up on exercising for fear of re-injury. I felt tired, weak, frustrated and hopeless.

Then a friend told me about “a different type of gym”. I was doubtful, but I took the first step by just trying a free class at Artemis. I had nothing to lose. I immediately noticed that people were truly happy to be here! The atmosphere is personal, encouraging, cheerful and fun. Every trainer knows every member, and the members each other. Give Running a Chance

Last summer I joined the running group offered through Artemis Fitness. I did not have high expectations because I had tried various methods to become a better runner in the past with little success. The experience with this group was life-changing, really, for me. Right from the first night, I learned techniques for a dynamic warmup that changed my running life. And then, little by little, I built up my endurance and distance. And I even ran the race!

Now it is almost seven months later. I have run five more 5Ks, and am well on my way to meeting my current goal of running 12 5K races in 12 months! Read Norma's Full Story

And it works. In just six months, Artemis gave me my life back. With each personal training session, I saw measurable progress I never thought possible given my chronic condition.
